Is the lot serviced by the sewer system
If the house is not on a sewer line the town's board of health with require a Title 5 inspection to determine if the home meets Massachusetts MA Dep Title 5 criteria. If not, a new septic system or septic repair may be required.
A septic engineer can design a system to ensure that you meet Title 5 standards. You will need a plot plan with septic design on it. You will also need to supply the number of bedrooms & bathrooms which determine the amount of waste that the system need to process.
